Bring Back 508! Not 517!

Hello even though im very satisfied with the 517 im sure what everybody really wants is the 508! Now that is one helluva server.
I think it needs to be brought back in all its glory with the custom dark light specs and bone dagger specs etc! Please listen to my plead and do the right thing!

But if he does switch to 508 it will need more advertisement because we don't have a webclient for the 508.

Let me start by saying i love the 508 and everything about it.

We tried this once before though and the 317 was far more popular so no one played the 508 except a select few of us, i truly wish it could be as successful as it was at one time but i think if no one if going to play there is no point to have it up.

When the 317 was popular that was due to a great staff team that were active and that helped everyone and also quite a bit of advertising was happening.

The community was also a more social one back when 317 first started.

Oh i was totally unaware of this! Well that sucks too be honest . I just cant get used to the 317 and I don't like playing it.

You don't get used to the 317 because the community sucks at the moment.

If Luther didn't ruin the client you'd probably enjoy it because we had a very social and playful community back then

The client works fine. The problem usually lies within the point that new members have trouble finding the right links to download the client(s).

Also, I think the starter items should be modified. All the clients are great, I've loved each and every one of them. There are more than just one set of problems, most of which I agree lies within the staff makeup. But remember we have problems with staff because NO ONE is trustworthy anymore.

You guys ask us for staff members, we do our best, they fail expectation and abuse their power, then the community blames us for bad staff choices.

The 508 was a nice server, but not so stabled.
It would crash a lot, lots of accounts would get
nulled everyday, for you guys is not a problem.
But for me? it is, I would have to be here 24/7
and taking care of every dc and every null account.
I used to do it because I didn't have much to do
3 years ago, things were different for me, I would
be here paying attention at everything that was going on.
My life changed so I can't do that anymore, now I have my
fiance living with me , just things are different..
The only stabled server I got atm is the 317, than
the 517 but still not so stabled, worst one is the 508.
I don't think the 508 will never come back, but that's
just my mentality atm, it could change later on who knows..

Maybe give someone trusted the source, teach them how to unnull accounts etc and let them host it? :s

Holy fuck Abel doesn't trust anyone and is probably the reason that the server did die l0l

But on a serious note if he gave someone the ability to do it, then he wouldn't need to worry.

I can think of a select few people that i believe abel trusts.

I may be wrong, but i'm not sure you can run the same source at the same time on two computers. Logically it sounds like it would work, but in actuality you risk more with two different computers acting as the server host.

Without someone running it through a strong firewall and anti-malware it risks everything within the source.

Thats just how I feel though.

You can run the same source at the same time just through different ports. So for e.g run one through 43594 and one through 43595 or am i getting through the wrong way here.

You can run more than 10 servers in one computer as long as you use different ports, like the 317 is port 43594 , 517 is 43595. And yeah I pretty much don't trust anyone with my sources, not even my brother in real. Only person I trust is Tammy and Melanie with my sources. tammy pc ain't good enough to host and melanie hosting the 517, no space for the 508 atm. Sorry

Well thats a downer i really hope in the future somthing happens!

Trust Issues

It is hard to trust when no one lives up to the challenge.

We can't even find (with some exceptions) mods who are worthy enough to last more than a few weeks without abusing.

*cough* I lasted over a year, then quit *cough*

Not saying i want to have the responsibility of hosting.. But just saying not all staff are bad :3
